LP Counselling & Psychotherapy
Creating a calm and accessible website for a counselling practice.
Complete, live client website

A complete online presence for a sensitive professional service.
I created the website for Lucy Pendle and LP Counselling & Psychotherapy, an independent counselling practice in Lincoln. The site gives prospective clients a clear way to understand the support available, learn more about Lucy and decide when they feel ready to make contact.
This was genuine external client work and required a very different creative response from a high-energy campaign. The experience needed to feel calm, reassuring, accessible and trustworthy throughout.
Provide clarity without making the experience feel sales-led.
People visiting a counselling website may feel uncertain, anxious or overwhelmed. Some may be considering counselling for the first time; others may be looking for support for a young person, comparing practitioners or seeking clinical supervision.
The website therefore needed to answer practical questions and establish professional trust without pushing visitors into a quick decision. Its structure, presentation and routes to contact all needed to support a thoughtful, low-pressure journey.
Planning and building the website from structure to responsive delivery.
My confirmed responsibilities covered the planning, organisation and construction of the live Squarespace website.
Website planning and buildPlanned and built the complete Squarespace website.
Information architectureDeveloped the page structure and organised the practice's services.
Navigation and user journeysCreated clear routes through service information, Lucy's background and practical details.
Professional presentationPresented Lucy's qualifications, experience and approach in a calm, consistent setting.
Calls to actionCreated clear, low-pressure routes to further information and contact.
Responsive deliveryAdapted the website experience for desktop and mobile visitors.
Three principles shaped the experience.
Calm
Give people space to read, understand and decide at their own pace.
Clarity
Separate services and practical information so the next useful page is easy to find.
Trust
Present Lucy's professional background, qualifications and way of working clearly.
Different needs, clearly separated.
The core services were organised into distinct routes so visitors could quickly focus on the information most relevant to them.
Adult counselling
Support and practical information for adults considering counselling and psychotherapy.
Young person's counselling
A dedicated route for young people and those looking for appropriate support on their behalf.
Clinical supervision
A separate professional service for practitioners seeking clinical supervision.
Useful prompts, without pressure.
The site encourages visitors to learn more, read about Lucy's approach, explore a relevant service and check practical information before contacting the practice when they feel ready. That keeps the next step visible while respecting the sensitivity of the decision.
Website gallery
A calm system across every page.
Locally stored screenshots from the completed live website.

Confirmed outcome
A complete, live website and professional online presence.
LP Counselling & Psychotherapy now has a finished website that presents its related services clearly, introduces Lucy and her approach, provides accessible practical and location information, and offers clear routes to contact.
The completed site demonstrates how the same practical communications approach can be adapted to a quieter, more sensitive professional context.
Client feedback
“Andrew’s marketing consultation helped me understand my brand more clearly and how to communicate it through my website. He took that understanding through into the design and build, and since then I’ve seen an increase in both website traffic and enquiries.”
I created this website for Lucy Pendle and LP Counselling & Psychotherapy as an external client project. I’ve included it to demonstrate my website planning, structure and build work; LP Counselling & Psychotherapy is not a business I own, and its inclusion does not imply endorsement of my wider freelance business.
